SAD NEWS: With what appears to be an arm injury, an Eagles rookie leaves training camp

Every training camp practice for the Philadelphia Eagles has the same objective. As much as possible, keep everyone upright and healthy. Arrive at the first week of the NFL regular season with the fewest number of players on the injury report. League offices have made every effort to install as many safety precautions as they can. Every club takes precautions because they are aware that a few injuries can alter the trajectory of a season. There is only one issue.

It’s football here. People will sustain injuries.

On Tuesday, July 23, the Birds arrived at the NovaCare Complex and started practicing the following day. They are still juggling a few bodies even though they took Friday and Sunday off.

Shaquan Davis and Cooper DeJean are listed as Active/Non-Football Injured. They have Sydney Brown listed as Active/Physically Unable to Perform. A few guys are sitting out practice, while Le’Raven Clark is lounging around on their injured reserve.

Lane Johnson is one of the four players the Eagles sit out of practice on Monday due to an injury, while another rookie is also out.
Brett Toth made a limited comeback to the field on Monday following his absence from two practice sessions due to a hamstring injury. Saquon Barkley missed time due to personal issues. Oren Burks (knee) missed his third straight session. Tyler Steen (ankle) and Lane Johnson (toe) were also out. That made it possible for a few young men to receive additional reps.

Trevor Keegan, a fifth-round draft pick in 2024, was one of those men. Something is wrong. Along with a trainer, he exited the practice field. He looks like he may have hurt his arm. When he came back, he stopped practicing.

In 2022, Keegan received a First-Team All-Big Ten vote, and in 2023, he received a Second-Team All-Big Ten nod. Last season, he won the national championship in the College Football Playoffs. Hopefully, he won’t lose too much time.
