[Watch] Superchargers Fuels Win As Nicholas Pooran Reachs 50 With A Monster Six

The Northern Superchargers opened their account in this season’s Hundred at Headingley in Leeds on Tuesday, defeating the Southern Brave by seven wickets, with Nicholas Pooran leading the way with a half-century.

For the Norther Superchargers, it was a Nicholas Pooran show during the chase. The West Indian keeper batsman, who batted third, ignited his team’s victory with 62 runs off of 34 balls at a strike rate of 182.35. With 15 balls left in the match, the Superchargers led by seven wickets thanks to the excellent support of captain Harry Brook.

Nicholas Pooran is renowned for his strong hits and power play. His mention of his half-century mark was one of the high points of his performance versus the Southern Brave. For the Brave, Rehan Ahmed was bowling the twelfth set. During the second and third deliveries of the set, Pooran hammered the young English spinner for two huge hits. He surpassed the milestone with just 26 deliveries with the subsequent six.

Having won the toss and chosen to bat, the Brave amassed 146-8 from 100 balls, led by a 37-ball century from former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard and two cameos from Alex Davies and James Coles, of 28 and 26, respectively.

For the Superchargers, Callum Parkinson scored 2-38 off of his 20 balls of left-arm spin.

 

 

After that, it took the Superchargers just 85 balls to reach 147-3 and win their first game of the year.

 

Graham Clark, the opener, added another 27 points.

 

For the Brave, Akeal Hosein scored 1-19 off of 15 balls.

 

The Superchargers have started the points tally off right with this victory. They have one victory in two games, a net run rate of -0.163, and are presently ranked fifth in the points table.
