Regarding his time spent with Arne Slot and his short-term goals for Liverpool this season, Tyler Morton has been candid.
Tyler Morton is excited about Arne Slot’s approach at Liverpool and feels he’s prepared to compete for a starting position. During the current US trip, which has seen the Reds defeat Real Betis and Arsenal, Morton has made two outstanding cameos from the bench.
It’s the goal of every midfielder—total football. He’s great with triangles, and you could see that (against Arsenal) in the way they were played. It was excellent, in my opinion, and we overpowered a strong Arsenal team. It was an amazing show.
“The gaffer’s approach is yielding results.” It’s beginning to click already, and the management staff deserves a lot of credit for that. It will get better soon, in my opinion, and it was a really positive move in the right way.
“I love learning new styles,” Morton continued. I liked taking out loans, where I was able to observe various management methods and absorb small nuggets of knowledge that I could use to my work.
“I’m definitely learning things in this place. It’s an extremely demanding preseason where you have to put in a lot of effort to succeed. That seems to be what we’re doing, at least what I’m doing. I’ve undoubtedly learned some things that I can apply to the upcoming season.
Liverpool’s match against Manchester United this weekend will mark the end of their US tour. Before the last friendly against Sevilla at Anfield on August 11, the rest of their international tournament contingent will report for pre-season training at the AXA Training Centre at the beginning of next week.
The promoted Ipswich Town, against whom Morton played twice in the previous season, will host the Reds to start their Premier League campaign. Additionally, the young player feels ready to make his first Premier League debut since December 2021, according to an interview with liverpoolfc.com.
The 21-year-old is attempting to push his way into the Liverpool senior team for the next season after spending the last two seasons on loan in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers and then Hull City.
The midfield player also thinks that Slot’s tactical approach is not too unlike from the one that the Holland national team popularized in the 1970s, when players were at ease switching between positions throughout a game.
Because we arrived so early, I believe we’ve been ready for a few weeks already, but I’m definitely ready, Morton remarked.
We all seem pretty fit and prepared, so I’m thankful for that. Everyone is putting in a ton of effort in training—you have to, given the high standards, particularly at this club.
“I feel better than ever since I returned, especially in terms of my physical health. All I have to do is keep pushing myself and working hard in the hopes that things will work out well for me.
