Three players on Liverpool’s roster, according to Jamie Carragher, “can’t run,” including 21-year-old

Three Liverpool players have prompted concerns from Jamie Carragher.

Three current Liverpool players that “can’t run” have been singled out by Jamie Carragher.

After Jurgen Klopp was fired at the end of the 23–24 season, Arne Slot took over as manager of Liverpool, and the team is currently preparing for its inaugural campaign.

The Reds have won all three of their preseason games while on their US tour, despite not having added any new players.

Prior to defeating Manchester United and Arsenal, two fierce rivals in the Premier League, Slot’s team defeated Real Betis.

Just over a week remains until the new season begins, and former Liverpool player Carragher has identified one worrying aspect of Slot’s midfield options.

Carragher said, “I think the interesting thing is that when you look at Arne Slot play it looks a bit more technical than Jurgen Klopp,” on The Overlap, which is presented by Sky Bet.

“He is a Dutch coach, and if you consider what Jurgen accomplished in that role, he was the one who brought Fabinho in.” I’m not sure if Arne Slot will introduce that caliber of football player. He seems to be looking for someone who can play and get on the ball. I felt Mac Allister spent a lot of last season playing that role for Liverpool.

“Liverpool definitely lack legs and energy in midfield,” he went on. When you consider how they concluded the previous campaign, Mac Allister, Endo, and Harvey Elliott were their midfield trio.

“They’re all very strong, but none of them can run.” When I look at that position, I say it’s scary because you don’t have the physical presence or energy to protect the back four, and if Liverpool brings in a complete footballer, will he be too much like Mac Allister was last season?

Talks about signing Martín Zubimendi are still ongoing, as Liverpool is still confident in doing. Though more work remains, #LFC is working on it.
