ESPN’s Jeff Darlington anticipates that the Miami Dolphins will offer Tyreek Hill a new contract

Could the Dolphins and Tyreek Hill finalize a new deal before the next offseason?

While the Dolphins are prioritizing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s contract extension, star wide receiver Tyreek Hill remains patient, waiting for his negotiation opportunity. Hill, a five-time first-team All-Pro, has been a formidable force for defenses, amassing 3,509 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns since joining the team.

With Jaylen Waddle signed through 2028, Darlington expects Miami to address Hill’s contract once Tagovailoa’s extension is complete, aiming to keep their key players together for the foreseeable future.

On The Pat McAfee Show, Darlington commented, “I believe Tyreek will receive a new deal, especially as long as Mike McDaniel is with the team. They might have focused on the Tua deal first, but Hill has handled it well, showing a positive attitude and making it clear he will continue to play hard.

“He might be hinting that if he doesn’t get paid now, it could be problematic after the season, but I believe they will offer him a new deal afterward.”

Hill, who signed a four-year, $120 million extension upon his trade to the Dolphins, could see the final year of his contract voided, increasing its annual value from $25 million to $30 million. Miami could save $45 million by releasing Hill before the 2026 season.

“I want to stay in Miami because this is where my family is now,” Hill stated last week. “Everyone loves it here—my family, wife, kids. I enjoy playing for Coach McDaniel and my teammates, and I wouldn’t want to leave.

“The fans are great, too. I appreciate how they hold us accountable on Twitter. We’re working hard to improve, not just sitting around.”
