Cowboys: Angry Wide Receiver Dallas CeeDee Lamb Shares His Wishes for His Upcoming Contract

Before the Dallas Cowboys are ready for the 2024 NFL season, they have a lot of work ahead of them. Prominent athletes Micah Parsons, Dak Prescott, and CeeDee Lamb all want their contracts extended. Furthermore, after they sign these new contracts, they want to be the top paid players in their respective positions.

It has been widely believed for months that Prescott will become the highest paid quarterback in the NFL with his new contract. The organization might be waiting to hear from Miami Dolphins player Tua Tagovailoa and Green Bay Packers player Jordan Love over their impending deals.

It has been estimated that Prescott could earn up to $60 million a season on his next contract, with the Cowboys or someone else, based on the quarterback market this summer.

That kind of deal, however, leaves very little leeway for the other two stars to do as they like.

Stephen Jones, the COO of the Dallas Cowboys, disclosed CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons’ respective wants.

Stephen Jones, the COO of the Cowboys, spoke to the media yesterday and fielded inquiries about their talks with their three greatest players. He disclosed during his press conference that Parsons and Lamb have the same goal of being the NFL’s highest-paid non-quarterbacks:

At the moment, Justin Jefferson, a wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, is the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. He inked a four-year, $140 million contract earlier this offseason, which will pay him $35 million a year.

The Cowboys would be spending $130 million year on just three players if Prescott made $60 million, Lamb $35 million, and Parsons $35 million. That amounts to about 50% of the NFL wage cap.

This would obviously leave little room for the squad to add more players of similar caliber. At least one of Dallas’ three stars will need to lower their demands if the team is to retain all three of them.

Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys wants his contract to make sense.

A video of Lamb working out in Houston, Texas was posted on social media yesterday by Cowboys insider Jane Slater. As supporters are well aware, the All-Pro wide receiver is waiting for a new contract.
Slater points out that during the offseason, Lamb has become larger and quicker. She also disclosed that before to signing the contract, he said it “has to make sense.”

That does not provide much information, but it is safe to conclude that Lamb wants to be among the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL considering that Jones previously disclosed that Lamb is pursuing $35 million annually.

Given this, it is highly doubtful that he will accept a salary of less than $30 million year; if he is unable to secure a comparable offer to Jefferson’s, he is likely to seek a salary in the $32-34 million area.
