After Amad suffered a severe injury, Manchester United may have a wildcard solution to replace him.

Ruben Amorim would have to deal with the most terrible of issues after Amad sustained a season-ending injury in the lead-up to Manchester United vs. Tottenham Hotspur. In a twist, though, it’s possible that his predecessor really outlined the blueprint.

The worst news has arrived one day before the trip to North London: Amad has suffered a serious injury. Since Amorim joined the team halfway through the season, the 21-year-old Ivory Coast international has been among the most effective offensive alternatives, tallying nine goals and dishing out six assists.

However, he is currently facing a period of inactivity that will prevent him from playing again before the conclusion of the 2024–2025 season. “Very disappointed to be writing this message at such a crucial time of the season,” the Man United player wrote on Instagram.

“I regret to inform you that I shall be gone for a while due to an injury. I’ll return stronger than before! It’s time to lend the boys some outside help. There is still much to play for.

This position is far from ideal because no attacker was signed during the winter transfer window. However, managers are supposed to solve these kinds of issues, and if Amorim were to go back to just last October, he would see Erik ten Hag’s solution.

Taking command of the 1-1 Europa League draw against Fenerbahce, the Dutchman was fired just four days after this decision. He oddly employed Noussair Mazraoui, a natural full-back, as an attacking midfielder throughout that game.

“I’ve met him before. Sometimes, I played him at Ajax. Additionally, he plays in the half spaces as a full-back in our system, so he can perform this function,” Ten Hag explained to TNT Sports before kickoff.

After his tenure ended, the project was abandoned, but in the most dire circumstances, Amorim might be calling for another attempt.

The Moroccan international is more than at home on his favorite right side, while his inverted wingers play duties akin to those of offensive midfielders.
