A wet day on Fridays equals sloppiness
Almost every practice morning since training camp started more than a week ago has included rain, but for the most part, the rain has stopped by 8:30 a.m., allowing the Texans to work in comparatively dry conditions. This was not the case on Friday. Rainfall levels that surpassed flood warnings continued throughout the morning, even throughout practice, creating untidy conditions that encouraged untidy play overall. Friday’s pre-snap penalties were many, and left guard Kenyon Green once had to run a lap due to a false start, which makes me think he was a repeat offender. Even though the Texans will not play outside until Week 6, it is still beneficial to practice in inclement weather. The two most significant facts are that (1) it does not seem like any injuries were caused by the wet weather and (2) despite the rain, a large number of supporters turned out. Fans are present, and the camp is VERY animated.
