The Mavericks have signed forward Emanuel Miller, as stated in a team press release. While the specifics of the contract weren’t disclosed, the announcement was made alongside Jazian Gortman’s signing on an Exhibit 10 deal, suggesting that Miller’s deal might also be an Exhibit 10 contract.

Miller went undrafted in 2024 after five collegiate seasons at Texas A&M and TCU. In his final college season, he averaged 15.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, with shooting percentages of 48.6% from the field and 38.3% from three-point range.

Mavericks’ summer league coach Jared Dudley described Miller as one of the team’s most physical players, according to Mike Curtis of the Dallas Morning News (Twitter link).

Miller was ranked 22nd on ESPN’s list of the best available undrafted free agents. Many of those ranked higher have signed or agreed to two-way deals. If Miller’s contract is indeed an Exhibit 10 deal, it could be converted to a two-way contract. The Mavericks currently have one two-way contract spot available, with Alex Fudge and Brandon Williams occupying the other two.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed minimum-salary deal that doesn’t count against a team’s cap unless the player makes the regular season roster. It can be converted to a two-way contract before the season starts, and the player can earn up to a $77.5K bonus if he’s waived and then spends at least 60 days with the team’s G League affiliate.
