A late hit on Justin Fields causes a major altercation during Steelers practice, with Russell Wilson observing from the bench

At the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice on Wednesday, a defender struck newly signed quarterback Justin Fields late, sparking a brawl among the club. The offensive line as a whole pursued the defense following the pointless shot.

After a while, each unit’s members exchanged comments regarding the skirmish. Punches were exchanged and the gloves came off as those Steelers players protected their backup quarterback.

A video that is now trending on social media begins right as the action begins. You can see Troy Fautanu (#76) and Cordarelle Patterson (#84) swinging at their defensive teammates in the middle of the brawl.

After that, not much is visible!

It is stated that Justin Fields’ hit is the main source of the problem.

Even though he gave up the starting job to Russell Wilson, his offensive team still seemed to respect him. Though it’s difficult to tell where he stood amid the mayhem, his post-practice comments seemed to support the suspicions that he was a late hit.

Offensive guard Nate Herbig stated, “Nobody’s going to hit our quarterback with a cheap shot and get away with it.” We place a lot of emphasis on it, as does our unit. We simply want to defend our quarterback; it’s nothing personal.

Although linebacker Elandor Roberts, who delivered the hit, applauded the offense’s response, the defense had a different perspective.

“It was merely a slight touch, but the offender fulfilled their obligation,” he retorted. “You should always shield your quarterback from harm. I’m going to avoid the quarterback.

Considering Russell Wilson’s current calf issue that has him sidelined, that’s definitely a good idea. When the combat starts, you might spot him at the top of the screen, in the endzone.

Even if the injury shouldn’t prevent him from playing this fall, you want to be as healthy as possible at the most crucial position!

In the NFL, autumn practice fight season has officially begun, and nobody is safe.

Earlier this month, we witnessed Travis Kelce argue with his Chiefs teammates after hitting Kadarius Toney viciously. When Jadeveon Clowney de-cleared starting running back Chuba Hubbard, he was treated similarly at Panthers training camps.

That time of year is here!

Players will eventually become weary of picking fights with their teammates and be able to focus on the enemy. The football season is almost here! We’ll keep seeing these practice scenes till then.
