After hearing about Brandon Graham, another Eagles veteran is getting ready to retire

With the announcement that Brandon Graham will be leaving the Philadelphia Eagles after this season, retirement looks to be imminent for another veteran member of the team.

It is difficult to avoid thinking about the guys who are not with the team to get ready for the 2024 campaign as the Philadelphia Eagles kick up training camp. There is a huge leadership hole left by the retirement of this year’s postseason MVPs, Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox.

The Eagles learned on Wednesday that Brandon Graham, another veteran, would also be retiring, as he said this would be his final NFL season.

But as it happens, Philadelphia will soon have another loss to be concerned about.

In his opening remarks at training camp, cornerback Darius Slay stated that he does not intend to play “too many more” years in the league. This merely confirms earlier opinions shared by the former All-Pro, who will turn 34 in January and is about to embark on his 12th NFL season.

Retirement still does not seem likely, although that could change with a significant accident or other incident in life. Before he leaves the team, maybe Philly can get him a ring.
