After being defeated by Novak Djokovic of Serbia in the men’s tennis singles final at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Carlos Alcaraz of Spain was unable to achieve his ultimate aim of winning the sport. Instead, he was awarded silver.
It was tough for the tearful Alcaraz to accept the loss, but in an interview that took place after the event, the Spaniard pledged that he would return to the Olympic stage in order to earn a gold medal for his nation.
As Alcaraz put it, “To tell you the truth, I always want to win.” That is beyond a doubt. Having been awarded a silver medal, I have every reason to feel extremely proud. I’m working hard to develop a highly successful career, I suppose… I have high hopes that it will continue.
” The fact that I am able to carry a medal to Spain is something that I am proud of, as I have stated before. The time is almost certainly going to arrive for me. There will be a time when I will carry the gold medal to Spain. I’m gonna wait for that moment and work for that time. Right now I have to enjoy hoisting the silver. It’s very wonderful as well.”
