Amad breaks silence on huge Man United injury blow in emotional statement

Manchester United’s Amad has confirmed that he will be sidelined for a considerable period due to injury. Reports on Saturday suggested that the forward had sustained ankle ligament damage, potentially ruling him out for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

While there remains a chance he could return before the end of May, Amad acknowledged the injury in a message on Instagram, expressing his disappointment at being sidelined during such a crucial stage of the season. “Extremely disappointed to be sharing this news at such an important time,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, I will be out for a while due to injury.”

He remained optimistic about his recovery, vowing to return stronger and pledging his support for the team. “I will come back stronger than ever! Now it’s time to back the boys from the outside—still plenty to play for.”

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim’s side is set to face Tottenham this weekend, with Kobbie Mainoo, Toby Collyer, and Manuel Ugarte also potentially unavailable.

Ahead of the trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Ruben Amorim hinted at squad concerns, with four fresh setbacks suggesting a depleted squad will make the journey to north London. Speaking on Friday, Amorim acknowledged recent challenges.

“It was a good week until two days ago,” he admitted. “We’ve had some issues. No players are returning, and there might be one or two concerns, but we’re still assessing. One player is also unwell, so we’ll see how things shape up for the weekend. Still, it was good to work with the squad, get a feel for the players, and focus on improving our performance.”

Since Amorim’s arrival, Amad has been in excellent form, registering 11 goal contributions in recent months. The 22-year-old has impressed both as a wing-back and in an attacking role, delivering consistently strong performances.
