Andre Onana names three Man Utd teammates who could have a ‘difficult’ season

Andre Onana thinks three of his colleagues might have difficulties.

Andre Onana, the goalkeeper for Manchester United, thinks three of his teammates might have difficulties this year.

After placing eighth in the previous season’s rankings, United does not have European football going into the 2017 Premier League campaign.

In the first summer after Sir Jim Ratcliffe became a co-owner of the team, Erik ten Hag made changes to his team by bringing in Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui.

Onana, who had a rough start to life at Old Trafford, bounced back in the latter months of the season with some notably better performances, and is now into his second season in English football.

The former Inter Milan goalkeeper acknowledges that some of the club’s younger players may find the forthcoming season challenging and is now considered as one of the leaders in the United locker room.

Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Amad were mentioned by Onana as three younger members who need assistance and time to reach their full potential.

He said to ManUtd.com, “We have Garna [Alejandro Garnacho], we have Amad, and we have Kobbie [Mainoo].

“We’ll give them time, and I think that’s a nice thing.” You must understand that the Premier League is the toughest competition in the world, so they may find this season challenging, but we will give them more time.

“We, as leaders, have the responsibility and it doesn’t matter what happens, we’ll be there to support them in each situation.”

During his debut season at the team, Onana raised a trophy as United upset rivals Manchester City to win the FA Cup at Wembley.

The Cameroonian acknowledged that he is itching to defend his title this year and that he is hungry for more medals.

He went on, “It’s not enough.” A Manchester United player has to be a winner at any costs. You must strive to succeed in every endeavor. You have to attempt to win one trophy per year at the very least.

“Big opportunities are now approaching, so we must seize the moment because it’s time to give it our all on the field. I’m filled with optimism when I observe how hard my players are working during our training sessions.

“We aim to triumph in every way. That is the reason we are here. We want to compete for both the Europa League and the Premier League. We want to compete for both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup because they are significant titles for our team.”
