The former star of the Houston Texans is content in Tennessee.
The Houston Texans were DeAndre Hopkins’ home team for the first seven seasons of his NFL career. After the organization selected him in the first round in 2013, he was traded in 2020. He later played for the Arizona Cardinals for a couple of injury-plagued seasons.
After signing a two-year contract with the Tennessee Titans the previous season, the former wide receiver for the Houston Astros is about to begin his contract season with the team. Hopkins seems happy to be back in Tennessee despite having a contract that is about to expire and appears to want to stay there after it does.
“I adore Tennessee.” Hopkins remarked, “I adore what Miss Amy [Adams Strunk, the Titans’ owner] is doing. “Let me just say that I am happier than I have ever been in any organization: this is it.”

The AFC South team finished with a 6-11 record and failed to qualify for the postseason in 2023, indicating a poor campaign for the Texans. Luckily for Hopkins, the team expanded their wide receiver corps with the addition of Tyler Boyd and Calvin Ridley.
Given that Hopkins spent time in Houston, where he caught 632 receptions for 8,602 yards and 54 touchdowns, it must hurt Texans fans to hear Hopkins make that claim. After a strong comeback season, he is an experienced wide receiver with plenty of talent who will be vital to quarterback Will Levis’ development.
There is no shortage of quality in the wide receivers room down in Houston. With the addition of Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell, the offensive line may very well be the best in the NFL, giving star quarterback C.J. Stroud an outstanding arsenal of weapons.
Nonetheless, Hopkins leads the Music City wide receiver group going into the season, so Texans supporters should be pleased for him.
