Dodgers trade cash to the Tigers for RHP Ricky Vanasco

On Monday, the right-handed pitcher Ricky Vanasco was dealt from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for any cash considerations that were involved.

The 25-year-old Vanasco made his debut in the major leagues on April 15 and participated in two games for the Dodgers while pitching out of the bullpen. He pitched two innings, surrendered three runs on three hits, and had a strikeout rate of one. His earned run average was 13.50.

This season, Vanasco has made 24 relief appearances for Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he has a record of 0-2 with a 3.47 earned run average and five saves.

He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the fifteenth round of the draft in 2017, then on June 1, 2023, he was dealt to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Luis Valdez, a left-handed prospect.
