’embarrassing’ Gary Neville blasts Ruben Amorim tactic during Tottenham vs Man Utd

Gary Neville has been critical of Manchester United’s midfield lineup for Sunday’s match against Tottenham.

Before criticizing the team’s setup, the former United captain criticized current United captain Bruno Fernandes’ body language during the first half.

Neville remarked, “You just mentioned the distance between the two central midfielders,” pointing out the enormous gaps in the midfield. Look at Bruno Fernandes’ location and Casemiro’s location; they can’t be the same. It violates every football regulation. That’s pure insanity.

“United may score goals today, but the team’s structure is terrible.” the spaces between Fernandes and Casemiro in that middle. That is an improper technique; Fernandes has been urged to come out to this side.

He continued talking about the issue a few minutes later, mentioning Casemiro’s difficulties.

“He’s struggling, he’s getting on in his years and to have him out there is tough enough in itself but to leave him on his own!” he stated. “Observe Bruno’s current position as a central midfield partner. Take a look at the area they can play through to reach Tel or Madison.

Neville criticized United’s setup while they were behind 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Andre Onana parried the ball into James Maddison’s path, and Maddison was there to tap it in, giving the home team an early lead. Alejandro Garnacho had the best chance to give United an equalizer in the first half, but his close-range shot went over the crossbar.
