“I have a huge regret, might just leave” Ruben Amorim explode at Man Utd star vs Tottenham

Ruben Amorim was visibly frustrated after Manchester United repeated a familiar mistake against Tottenham—one they simply cannot afford to keep making.

United have managed just 28 goals in 25 Premier League matches this season, with only Everton, Leicester City, Ipswich Town, and Southampton registering fewer. Wasteful moments, like Alejandro Garnacho’s missed golden opportunity in the first half against Spurs, highlight why their attacking struggles come as no surprise.

Amorim has earned praise for his candidness in press conferences and the passion he displays on the touchline, a stark contrast to Erik ten Hag’s more composed and methodical demeanor.

Amorim’s animated touchline presence made it clear exactly how he felt about yet another costly mistake from his struggling attack.

After the game, James Maddison was asked about his response to Roy Keane’s recent criticism and said: “There was a bit of outside noise this week. People are entitled to their opinions, but I wanted to let my football do the talking. Hopefully, a few people were happy to see me score the winner today.”

He acknowledged the challenge of ignoring criticism, especially in the age of social media and instant messaging. “It’s hard to shut out the noise when it’s constantly in your face—on social media, WhatsApp, everywhere. When it comes from a high-profile name, it gets even harder. But the key is to respond in the right way, and I think I did that today. I’m really happy,” he added.

Maddison is Tottenham’s leading scorer in the Premier League this season with nine goals. With four assists to his name, he is also the club’s second-most productive playmaker, behind only Son Heung-min.

In the upcoming weeks, manager Ange Postecoglou will be itching for Maddison to continue disproving Keane. Regardless of the mitigating conditions, Tottenham is currently vying for a top-half finish after the Australian’s second season in north London was a huge letdown.
