Marcus Rashford’s jubilation after Aston Villa’s equalizer against Ipswich revealed the real emotions of the Man United loanee.
Following his successful transfer away from Manchester United last month, Marcus Rashford’s jubilation during Aston Villa’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town says it all.
Rashford was instrumental in Villa’s equalizer against Ipswich, who were in danger of relegation. Ollie Watkins converted the rebound after the 27-year-old’s free kick from about 25 yards out, just to the left of the box, struck the crossbar.
Rashford was seen raising his arms in celebration as the ball crossed the line. But the Man United loanee collected himself before joining his colleagues, just as the other Villa players were getting a little more animated.
Rashford was obviously experiencing the thrill of being a part of the goal. But soon after, he returned to focusing on his work and helping his teammates.
His abrupt shift to a more subdued face seemed to indicate that he still isn’t quite “happy” and would like to be more involved.
Rashford stated on Instagram that he “just wants’s to play football” when he was originally revealed as an Aston Villa player. He has participated in every game in his first two appearances for the Midlands clubs, and even if his contribution to the goal won’t be considered a straight assist, he did his share.
The 27-year-old will get his next chance to make an impression when Villa plays Liverpool, a rival of Manchester United, in the middle of the week. Despite his departure from Old Trafford, Reds fans will be hopeful he can help them defeat United’s opponents and boost his reputation before summer departure.
