In light of Johan Lange’s admission, Ange Postecoglou speaks out about Tottenham’s January transfer plans.

Ange Postecoglour, the head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, has been discussing his team’s intentions for the January transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has revealed the team’s plans for the January transfer window, which will open in just over five weeks. Spurs have had a fantastic start to the 2023–24 season and are now just two points behind Manchester City, the league leaders, in fourth place in the Premier League.

However, the north Londoners have suffered a number of injuries recently, losing James Maddison and defender Micky van de Ven due to varying fitness concerns. This makes the Lillywhites roster rather small, especially in light of the fact that club captain Son Heung-min will also be playing in the Asian Cup, along with Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma, who will both be traveling to the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

Postecoglou said, “I guess the challenge for us was they all came at once as it hasn’t been staggered,” in response to a question regarding plans for the winter window. Regarding January, that is not at all what is planned. Johan [Lange] has arrived and is taking charge of all the preparatory work.

As January approaches and I have a better idea of what is needed, I will be more involved and step up my own efforts. However, Johan has been leading this work in the background and has brought in some support to help him out. When the time is appropriate, we’ll collaborate with him.”

Earlier this month, Lange took over as the brand-new technical director for the north London club. The former Aston Villa manager is now in charge of hiring new players for Spurs. The 43-year-old’s position will resemble that of Fabio Paratici’s role as the team’s director of football in certain ways.

Exclusive: ANGE POSTECOGLOU: SPURS BOSS OPENES UP ON HIGH LINE AND PRESSING APPROACH WITH RIO FERDINAND

The talk of the town is Ange Postecoglou’s high-pressing strategies after Tottenham, reduced to nine players, lost a thrilling 4-1 match to Chelsea. Spurs had Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero sent off, but Postecoglou stuck to his values. In Between The Lines, the Spurs manager talks with Rio Ferdinand about his philosophy. Watch it this Thursday at 22:30 UK time on TNT Sports 3.

In an interview with Rio Ferdinand, a TNT Sports analyst, on Between The Lines, Ange Postecoglou provided a thorough analysis of his pressing strategies.

As Tottenham lost a thrilling derby against Chelsea in north London on Monday, Postecoglou’s aggressive style on the field came under scrutiny. Despite his team being reduced to nine men in the second half, the Australian refused to let his team go any lower.

In fact, Spurs came dangerously close to pulling off an unlikely point, but Eric Dier’s equalizer was ruled out at 2-1, and Son Heung-min missed a huge opportunity shortly after. It proved costly as Nicolas Jackson scored twice in injury time to complete his hat-trick and leave the final score at 4-1, which was rather lopsided. Jackson had exposed the high line.

Prior to that match in Between The Lines, which airs on TNT Sports 3 on Thursday at 22:30 UK time or on TNTSports.co.uk on Friday morning, Postecoglou discussed adhering to his tactical beliefs no matter the outcome and how his team’s pre-season friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk served as a wake-up call.

Due to their 2-1 lead, Spurs began to lose steam as halftime drew near, which led the Australian to give his players the boot during the interval.

The time and score are the main things we’re paying attention to. Before Saturday’s game between Wolves and Tottenham, which kicks off at 11:00 a.m. on TNT Sports 1 and discovery+, Postecoglou spoke to TNT Sports. “Now we’re not playing our football and reacting to something that’s up there [the time and the scoreboard],” he said.
