Leeds United get some good news as an ex-Whites player gives his opinion on the Swansea City game.

Leeds United return to Championship action tonight at Elland Road against Swansea City. Daniel Farke’s men are looking to bounce back after a stalemate at Rotherham on Friday, and former Whites midfielder David Prutton predicts a comfortable win.

Good, Bad & Ugly: David Prutton - The League Paper

“Just when you think Leeds are going to start marching, they go and manage to draw at Rotherham,” he writes in his Sky Sports predictions. “They should have been a few goals up before conceding the equalizer.” It was a missed opportunity to put real pressure on Ipswich.

Swansea would have been disappointed to see their two-goal lead against Hull eroded. I don’t think they’ll get anything from Elland Road, either. “The score is 3-1.”

A win for Leeds United on Friday night would have probably kept the wolf at bay for a few players in my team this week. The players who started at Rotherham United are a very strong group in a squad that is now nearly fully fit, but the points dropped down there necessitate a reaction tonight.

That entails reverting to the strongest possible line-up on paper in order to ensure no stone is left unturned in the quest to return to winning ways. It may not be significant by next May, but favourable fixtures for the clubs closest to Leeds in the table will increase the pressure if the Whites do not win all three points tonight.

The two modifications are fairly obvious. Liam Cooper didn’t do much wrong on Friday night, but Pascal Struijk has looked better this season. The Dutch center-back should have had enough leg training sessions following surgery to return tonight alongside Joe Rodon.

Daniel Farke is preparing a nearly fully fit Leeds United squad to face Swansea City tonight. Injuries were a major story earlier in the season, with the Leeds manager frequently unable to fill a subs bench, but now it will be a question of who he must leave out.

Farke was able to provide positive updates on a number of Leeds players who have been carrying knocks recently during Tuesday’s pre-match press conference, notably confirming skipper Liam Cooper is fit after limping off against Rotherham on Friday, and forward Georginio Rutter is back to full fitness after returning from the international break with a knock.
