REPORT:Georgia bulldogs had made three biggest transfer target….

Georgia has had a busy day in terms of movement on the transfer portal. After quarterback Brock Vandagriff and defensive lineman Jonathan Jefferson announced their intentions to transfer earlier in the day, three more players announced they would be spending their careers elsewhere.

Austin Blaske (offensive tackle), Jackson Meeks (wide receiver), and CJ Madden (outside linebacker) have all chosen to enter the transfer portal. Blaske is the first offensive lineman to do so, and Meeks is the first wide receiver to do so. Madden is the second outside linebacker to leave the team, following Darris Smith.Georgia Football QB Brock Vandagriff Enters the NCAA Transfer Portal - Sports Illustrated Georgia Bulldogs News, Analysis and More

Blaske briefly competed to be Georgia’s starting left tackle this season. But injuries prevented him from seeing the field and he ultimately ended up redshirting. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

“Dawg nation, I have been given so many blessings both as a student and athlete during my time at UGA,” Blaske said. “My experiences on and off the field have transformed me in way I could never have imagined when I stepped on campus four years ago. I recognize and appreciate all that has been poured into me by coaches and staff to help me grow and ultimately, allow me to accomplish all I can at UGA. I could not have asked for better teammates, and I have made friendships that will last the rest of my life. With that being said, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal with two years of eligibility.”

Meeks has two years of eligibility remaining and was a special teams standout at Georgia. Meeks caught one pass for 23 yards this season and appeared in 12 games as a pass catcher.

Georgia brought in Dominic Lovett and Rara Thomas via the transfer portal last offseason, and it is expected that Georgia will be active at wide receiver once again.

In all, Georgia has seen six players already transfer elsewhere this offseason. That number was 16 a season ago and given what Georgia is set to bring in via recruiting and the transfer portal.Jonathan Jefferson, Georgia, Defensive Line

The transfer portal opened on Monday and will close on Jan. 2. Players who have not yet transferred are granted a one-time transfer exemption from the NCAA. Georgia previously saw Darris Smith enter the transfer portal as well.

The Bulldogs knew they would have some transfer portal defections after Saturday’s loss to Alabama.

“I did talk to our team. They are very excited. I think of all the ballgames we could be in outside the Playoffs, this is where our kids would love to be,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said. “This part is good. Yeah, really high-character team, a bunch of fun guys to coach. The guys that want to play in it, they’re going to continue with us, they’re going to enjoy that. We’ll have guys go into the portal, guys looking for their future, it’s bright for them maybe at other places. That’s what the portal is for.”
