Breaking news:New york giant biggest quarterback has gone…..

The New York Giants have had an unequivocally strange season.

After a disappointing 2-6 start to the season, the Giants fanbase was already feeling let down by a team that had high (ish) expectations after a 10-7 season in 2022, followed by a road win against the Minnesota Vikings in the wild card round.

Following an injury to $40 million quarterback (words that I physically struggled to type onto the keyboard), Daniel Jones, and replacement Tyrod Taylor, the team found undrafted local QB and now Italian-American icon, Tommy DeVito, who has now won two in a row as the Giants fall to a still-bad 4-8 record.Daniel Jones' knee injury feared to be 'significant,' per early reports - Big Blue View

But, strangely, there is still a sense of optimism at MetLife Stadium. Optimism about making the playoffs – no – but something about the DeVito situation, the two-game winning streak, and perhaps just the incredibly low expectations set over the last decade have made this season seem not-all-that-bad for the New York Giants.

And, to bolster that – the Giants will activate a Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, Tyrod Taylor, for IR, per Dan Solomone.

New York has already announced that Tommy DeVito will be the starting pitcher for the rest of the season. Even so, having a player like Taylor – who, surprisingly to me, has won a Super Bowl and been to a Pro Bowl (in 2015) – on the Giants’ sidelines and as a backup in case a NYG quarterback is injured again.

This season, it isn’t a big deal because the Giants are a long way from the playoffs and would need to win and pray a lot to even have a chance at the 7 seed. Despite some impressive play from standouts such as Kayvon Thibodeaux, the Giants front office is focused on the next three years, not the present.Giants' Jones misses 2nd straight practice with neck injury
