ANNOUCEMENT:detriot lions has land top 5 best quarterback in the world..

The Detroit Lions have made two roster moves, one involving a kicker and one involving their rookie quarterback.

The Lions waived kicker Riley Patterson and activated quarterback Hendon Hooker from the reserve/non-football injury list on Tuesday afternoon.

Patterson started the first 13 games of the season for Detroit, making 15 of 17 field goals and 35 of 37 extra points. Before last week’s game against the Denver Broncos, he was replaced by Michael Badgley.Detroit Lions agree to terms with the Jacksonville Jaguars to acquire K Riley Patterson via trade

In the win, Badgley converted all six extra-point attempts. He appears to be the Lions’ new kicker going forward.

Hooker was drafted in the third round out of Tennessee. Because of a torn ACL suffered late in his senior season, he was only available at No. 68 overall.

Hooker’s 21-day practice window was opened late last month when the Lions activated him from the NFI list. This allowed him to take part in practice and receive one-on-one coaching.

We can’t coach him (unless he’s activated), so that’s why,” head coach Dan Campbell explained at the time. “He can be present in meetings, but he can’t be out there doing fundamental work.” He just has to sort of stand there. So that’s where being able to do individual work with him and have him take a picture comes in handy. That is why it is significant.”Lions Part Ways With K Riley Patterson Amid Late-Season Slump

“It’s good to get him out there,” said Campbell. “From his perspective, I know he’s excited to be able to feel like he’s a part of the team.” It’s difficult when your only option is to attend meetings. You then go to rehab. So I know he’s pumped to be there.”

Last season at Tennessee, Hooker threw for 3,135 yards, 27 touchdowns, and two interceptions in 11 games. He also had 430 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. In two seasons with the Volunteers, he threw for over 6,000 yards and scored more than 60 touchdowns.

“We’re just in the beginning stages of it, but you can see just when he throws the ball why we acquired him,” Campbell went on to say. “He has a certain poise about him, and he has a really smooth delivery, tight spiral.” But he’s only getting started. He’s just getting started, but it’s good to see him out there.”
