Denver nuggets star is Out Indefinitely After Suffering Dog Bites to Face and Hand…

The basketball star, 28, was bitten by a dog on Christmas, resulting in cuts to his face and shooting hand, as the Denver Nuggets revealed on Wednesday.

Gordon needed 21 stitches as a result of the incident, per ESPN and The Athletic. The Nuggets stated that Gordon is “in good condition” and that more information will be given as needed, but they did not indicate a timeline for his return.

The big forward scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to help the Nuggets defeat the Golden State Warriors 120-114 earlier in the day.

In an interview with reporters on Wednesday, coach Michael Malone stated that the Nuggets’ priority is for Gordon to recover “inside and out” before he returns.

“We won’t subject him to any pressure. He needs to become well on the inside and exterior. Something like that is not something you recover from quickly,” he remarked. “That’s something where you have to heal from the physical, but you also have to heal from the mental and what you just kind of went through.”

We desire his return. We’re aware that having him is preferable,” Malone continued. “But I want to support Aaron Gordon and make sure when he comes back, he’s ready to come back and play at the level that we know he’s capable.”

Reporters were informed by teammate Kentavious Caldwell-Pope that the team found out about Gordon’s injury during practice. “I send him my deepest sympathies. “I’m going to try to uplift him and make sure he’s okay, even though I know he’s feeling low right now,” he stated.

Gordon suffered a heel strain in November and early December, which forced him to miss four games. Gordon, who made his comeback on December 2 during the team’s game against the Sacramento Kings, reportedly remarked that walking felt like “stepping on a stone,” according to The Athletic.
