Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel warned football fans about potential frauds involving Detroit Lions tickets on Tuesday.LGBTQ Rights Lawyer Running for Michigan Attorney General

According to our Gray affiliate WILX, Nessel encourages Lions supporters to be cautious while seeking for tickets online and to be wary of scammers who try to profit from fans.

“Online ticket transactions carry a certain level of risk. “It’s simple for scammers to create a phony screenshot of a ticket that doesn’t exist or has already been sold — possibly multiple times,” Nessel said in a statement to WILX. “If you’re buying tickets to this weekend’s playoff game at Ford Field, make sure they’re legitimate and will get you into the game. Only then will you be.

According to the attorney general, scammers would defraud buyers using payment apps such as Apple Pay, Cash App, Venmo, and Paypal.
