breaking news:A Tottenham defender has left the club due to…Report: Bayern Munich looking at Tottenham Hotspur's Eric Dier - Bavarian Football Works

Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Tottenham to sign defender Eric Dier.

The Bundesliga club will pay a sum of £3.4 million (€4 million), which reflects Dier’s contract’s last six months.

Dier has already arrived in Munich and is preparing to undergo medical tests.

At his press conference on Thursday, Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel stated, “We know from experience that things can go wrong in the final seconds.” He is in Munich, and we are working to conclude the deal and find another defensive option in our team. But I’d like to wait before the ink dries.

“I believe he is more of a specialist in the center defense role. He previously played as a holding midfielder. He can play in a back four or a back three, allowing Leon Goretzka to play in midfield without having to switch between playing as a No 8 and being deeper.

“We’re still focusing on other positions and we’ll see if anything else happens.”

Dier has been with Spurs for nine and a half years, having joined from Sporting Lisbon in 2014. He has made 365 appearances and scored 13 goals in that time.Athletic: Eric Dier linked with Tottenham exit - Cartilage Free Captain

He was a Mauricio Pochettino stalwart, primarily in midfield, and despite playing 42 games for the team last season, he has appeared in only four games since the start of 2023/24.

Dragusin has started every Serie A game this season and is particularly strong in the air, ranking third in the league for aerial duels won.

Only Cagliari’s Alberto Dossena has made more clearances, and Dragusin is a threat at the other end of the pitch, ranking tenth in headed shots.
