Coutinho was deemed surplus to needs at Villa Park and is currently on loan with Qatari club Al-Duail, where he has four goals and one assist in nine matches.

The 31-year-old still has more than two years on his deal with Villa, but he appears to have played his final game for the club because he does not fit into boss Unai Emery’s plans.

The Los Angeles Galaxy are also said to be interested in Coutinho, who is thought to earn roughly £125,000 per week on his Aston Villa contract.
