Blackshire, a former four-star prospect from Duncanville, Texas, made 16 total tackles as a junior for the Crimson Tide.

Coming out of high school, Blackshire was the No. 168 overall player and the No. 21 linebacker in the country, and he committed to Alabama early during the COVID recruiting season under current Texas assistant Jeff Banks.

As players continue to analyze their standing, new Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer will be entrusted with the ongoing recruitment of his own roster while navigating the high school run

“When it comes to recruiting–and I could go on and on about how we will recruit–I understand that it is the program’s lifeblood,” DeBoer stated during his inaugural press conference. “We can have outstanding coaches, but the players on the field make the plays. To be the best of the best in the SEC and win a national championship, we’ll need a relentless approach that begins with myself and then spreads to our staff. I’m excited to roll up my sleeves and go to work.”Kendrick Blackshire - Football - University of Alabama Athletics
