This winter, a growing number of Florida State off-field staff workers are accepting promotion offers. The majority of the movement came after John Garrett, Duke’s former Director of Scouting, was hired as General Manager of Player Personnel under new head coach Manny Diaz.

Since then, at least three more staff members have committed to accompany Garrett to Durham. The trio will serve in various front-office capacities for the Blue Devils.

Mitch Ciombor worked at Florida State for two years as a student equipment manager and player personnel assistant. He will take up the role of Coordinator of High School Recruiting at Duke.

After six years in the football program and even more as a student at Florida State, Michael Zerbe is embarking on the next chapter of his career with the Blue Devils. Throughout his career with the Seminoles, he held a variety of positions, including student manager, student recruiting assistant, player personnel assistant, and assistant director of player personnel.

Jenna Kinker, Duke’s new Director of Recruiting Operations, will succeed a member of Florida State’s recruiting staff. She previously worked as the Seminoles’ on-campus recruitment coordinator for more than a year. Kinker has worked as a football intern at UCF and an on-campus recruiting coordinator at UT-Chattanooga.
