Michael Oliver and Howard Webb decide the player that has fear on referee…

Former Wales international Craig Bellamy was named as the most difficult player to officiate by both PGMOL chief Howard Webb and current Premier League referee Michael Oliver, who both considered Bellamy to be the worst player to officiate. Bellamy was a star player for Liverpool, Manchester City, and Newcastle.

Even though Bellamy had a great career playing for elite teams like Manchester City, Newcastle, and Liverpool, he was well-known for his challenging behavior on the field. In a 2021 interview with The Athletic, Oliver—a well-known Newcastle supporter—admitted, “Craig Bellamy was extremely difficult.”

“As a Newcastle supporter, I watched him for two or three years. You wanted him in your team because he was a winner. But because he would argue about everything, he was a nightmare to referee. He would tell you it was white if you told him it was black.”

In the meantime, in response to the same query, Webb, the current head of the PGMOL and a former Premier League referee, expressed similar opinions via the Mirror. The referee from the 2010 World Cup final claimed that Bellamy expressed his opinions too quickly and failed to take the official’s viewpoint into account.Premier League could lose top referee Michael Oliver as official, 38, is approached for lucrative new job | The Sun

In 2016, Webb told the Mirror, “The player that gave me the most grief would have to be Craig Bellamy.” He was referring to the fans, players, and managers who had given him a particularly difficult time during his time there. “I struggled to build any sort of rapport with Craig.”

Even though he was a fantastic football player and a lovely guy off the field, he was quick to voice his opinions and paid little attention to yours when it came to the game. Other players would express their opinions and have actual conversations with you, such as Robbie Savage or Joey Barton.”

When Bellamy hanged up his boots in 2014, he stopped berating the officials. After that, he started coaching for the Belgian team Anderlecht, where he collaborated with former teammate Vincent Kompany. He still works with the City icon at Burnley now.

Reid commented on X, “I’ve lost the will to live, game’s gone,” while Kevin Campbell branded the ruling as a “disgrace”. Don Hutchinson also declared on the same forum that the “game’s gone,” and many Everton fans called the decision a “joke.”

Stelling was one of the neutrals who couldn’t believe it. He wrote on X: “Seriously, a red card for Calvert-Lewin?” Does anyone honestly believe that the game is better with VAR? Many Everton fans believe the club should appeal Calvert-Lewin’s red card. One complained that “VAR has completely destroyed the game.” None of the on-field officials considered that a foul. It’s re-refereeing the game, which isn’t what VAR was intended for. Disgrace.”

“Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.”

Unsurprisingly, Dyche was unimpressed by the dismissal. He told ITV Sport, “The slow motion gives a distinct view… There’s small contact, but he (the referee) doesn’t give anything in real time, so they slow it down and everything appears worse.

Dyche continued, “I have no idea what that (monitor) is there for. Every fan must be wondering, ‘What is the point?’ “I thought it was getting cleaned up, but it appears to have stepped back a little bit. I’m still a fan, albeit
