Bulls hold steady in newest Bleacher Report NBA power rankings…..

Every day that passes that the Chicago Bulls do not make a move, they are slouching closer and closer to the proverbial treadmill of mediocrity, and the NBA power rankings are beginning to reflect this tendency. The Bulls were ranked No. 20 by Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey last week, and that ranking isn’t entirely bad.

Chicago has maintained, if not gained, some ground in the standings, as noted by the fact that they have “pretty solid positioning in the play-in tournament, where they have a 2.5-game buffer between themselves and 11th place,” thanks to the better play of Bulls big man Nikola Vucevic.Nikola Vucevic, Bulls reach 3-year contract extension | NBA.com

The B/R analyst states, “The 33-year-old returned from an injury on January 5 and the Bulls are 5-2 since then.” “He has averaged 18.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists over those seven games.”

To be true, some of those victories came against less formidable opponents (two games against the Houston Rockets, the San Antonio Spears, and the lowly Charlotte Hornets do not exactly inspire dread in their opponents).

Which is perhaps why the Bulls did not improve despite having such a strong record throughout that time.
