Las Vegas Raiders Predicted To Trade $140 Million Star Amid Franchise Overhaul.

There may be significant offseason changes for the Las Vegas Raiders now that they are managed by a new front staff. For starters, even though Davante Adams wants to be with the squad and play for head coach Antonio Pierce, his future with them is currently all but uncertain.

Adams committed to the Raiders for the long haul, as seen by the five-year, $140 million contract he signed in 2022. The issue is that, with Tom Telesco taking over as general manager and the team reportedly looking to start over with Pierce, trades are always an option.

Top Trade Assets for the Las Vegas Raiders Include Davante Adams.

It should come as no surprise that Adams is one of the Raiders’ best trade assets given their intention to retool in the summer. Given his value, it won’t come as a surprise if the team puts him up for trade.

Having said that, he was listed as the Raiders’ top trade asset by the Bleacher Report scouting department, along with players like quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and wide receiver Hunter Renfrow.

The BR story stated the following regarding Adams and the Raiders’ possible trade pieces:

Even though Antonio Pierce was chosen by the Raiders to start in Josh McDaniels’ place, things in Las Vegas still seem very new. To finish their leadership change, they added former Chargers general manager Tom Telesco, which may indicate that a few players are available. These three veterans were all brought in by an earlier administration.

Adams is still capable of playing at a very high level, but he did not come to the Raiders for this. Derek Carr, his former college teammate, may have a soft spot for Pierce, but there are still concerns about this team’s quarterback position. Reports state that Hunter Renfrow was almost dealt at the deadline, and Jimmy Garoppolo has connections to Josh McDaniels.

Adams caught 103 passes for 1144 yards and eight touchdowns by the end of the 2023 campaign. Despite his declining stats, it’s important to keep in mind that the Raiders’ quarterback situation wasn’t great in the first place. Following Garoppolo’s injury, youngster Aidan O’Connell started the remainder of the season.

That being said, if the Raiders make him available, a lot of teams will be vying for his services.

They will select 13th in the 2024 NFL Draft, so they will have to give up some valuable assets if they want to move up to select a top quarterback. If they decide to go that path, maybe a Davante Adams trade could help with that.

The Raiders may also examine free agency and the trade market. The Chicago Bears are anticipated to shop Justin Fields and choose USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams in the first round of the draft. Another name that has been associated with Las Vegas is Russell Wilson, who the Denver Broncos are poised to release.

Adams’s future with the Raiders may potentially be determined by the direction they adopt this offseason.
