ASTON VILLA STAR PLAYER IS LEAVING TO JOIN SERIE A CLUB
|With Stefano Pioli moving to the 4-2-3-1 in recent weeks, the dearth of an offensive midfielder has become apparent, and while Ruben Loftus-Cheek has played there frequently, he has yet to make the role his own, raising concerns about his ability to play there.
As a result, reinforcement in the position would be good, and La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) reports that the Rossoneri may want to sign Nicolo Zaniolo in the summer transfer window.
The offensive midfielder apparently ‘wants to return to Serie A’, and three clubs are interested in aiding his return: Juventus, Fiorentina, and, of course, Milan.
He is now on loan at Aston Villa, and although his contract includes a buy clause, his lack of playing time makes a trade tough to complete. As a result, if the English team does not use this provision, he will return to Galatasaray and hope to be sold quickly.
There is one stumbling issue, though. After the past few years, it is unlikely that any of the interested clubs will be ready to take the risk and acquire him outright, thus all three clubs would likely prefer a loan deal with a buy-out clause.
