Spurs winger is ready to leave the club

Popular writer Dean Jones told Give Me Sport that he expects Tottenham Hotspur to let Spanish winger Bryan Gil leave in the summer since he has struggled to make an impact at the North London side.

Gil has remained with the team for several seasons without making a meaningful impression. This season under Postecoglou was supposed to be the turning point in his career, but things haven’t quite gone as planned.

The Spanish winger is the type of player who should thrive under Ange Postecoglou. He has an attacking mindset and might yet contribute significantly to Spurs. But he has now fallen behind in the pecking order with the likes of Son Heung-min and Timo Werner ahead of him in that position.

Throughout his stint in La Liga, the 23-year-old showed a lot of promise. He was largely regarded as one of the league’s top prospects. His career seemed poised for greatness, but now appears to be stalled.

This does not appear to be a fair comparison. Except for being left-footed, the two players had little in common. They even like to play on different wings.

Gil is a traditional winger, a left-footer who enjoys playing on the left side of the attack, driving to the byline, and cutting the ball back in. Raphinha, on the other hand, is a more modern, inverted winger who plays on the right side and takes advantage of every opportunity. In terms of style, he is far more like Dejan Kulusevski than Bryan Gil.Dean Jones expects Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil to be moved on in the summer

Signing Raphinha is a topic for another day, but if we receive the proper offer, we must let Gil go. Transfers don’t always work out. We have to face reality, let the Spaniard go, and cut our losses.
