NFL Report: Giants star has a surprise for the Giants in his latest mock draft

Daniel Jeremiah releases second NFL mock draft of the 2024 offseason - Behind the Steel CurtainMock Draft Season is already underway, and several extremely imaginative mocks have already made their way onto the internet.

Like that of NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah, who, in his second mock draft of the season, sees the New York Giants moving on from quarterback Daniel Jones in favor of LSU’s Jayden Daniels, widely regarded as a top-five choice but who Jeremiah believes may slip to the Giants at No. 6.

Jeremiah, who did not make any trades in his latest mock, wrote, “I don’t make trade projections in mock drafts this early in the process, which is why Daniels is still available at No. 6. I wouldn’t rule out the Giants trying to move up for a quarterback, but in this scenario, Daniels falls into their lap.” The top five picks before the Giants had an interesting order. Jeremiah had USC’s Caleb Williams to Chicago, North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye to Washington, Ohio state

Having two wide receivers go in the top five picks hasn’t been discussed as much, especially given New England is viewed as one of the teams in need of a fresh start at quarterback. However, if this scenario occurred, it would be ideal for the Giants, as they would have a top QB prospect fall straight into their lap.

Daniels is coming off a stellar season at LSU, where he threw for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns with only four interceptions, resulting in an unbelievable 10:1 touchdown to interception ratio. In 2023, he carried for 1,134 yards and eleven touchdowns, demonstrating his ability to perform on the ground. He’s a playmaker with a strong arm and would be an excellent match for the Giants’ attack.Daniel Jeremiah releases second NFL mock draft of the 2024 offseason - Behind the Steel Curtain

Jeremiah, who is well-connected, also stated that the Giants might consider moving up for a quarterback. Giants general manager Joe Schoen has a track record of making trades and understands that the team has valuable assets that can be moved around the board if necessary. He was also in the room when the Bills traded up for Josh Allen in 2018, so if he sees Williams, Maye, or Daniels as a viable option, he will not hesitate to inquire about trading up.
