JANNIK SINNER misses next match due to….

Despite “struggling a little bit,” Jannik sInner makes it to the Rotterdam semi-finals following the injury of Milos Raonic retires.

Though he hasn’t performed to the same level in Rotterdam as he did when winning the Australian Open, Jannik Sinner has advanced to the semi-finals and will take against Tallon Griekspoor, a hometown favorite. After Milos Raonic retired due to an injury, Sinner defeated the Canadian 7-6(4) 1-1. In the other ATP 500 semifinal match, Grigor Dimitrov and Alex de Minaur will square off.

Jannik Sinner wants to reach this important milestone at the US Open

After Milos Raonic withdrew early from their quarterfinal match in the second set, Jannik Sinner advanced to the round of four at the Rotterdam Open.
The big-serving Canadian pushed Australian Open winner Sinner hard in the opening set, and in the tenth game, Sinner had to preserve two set points.
However, Sinner prevailed in a tiebreaker, and Raonic eventually withdrew from the match after trailing 7-6(4) 1-1.

Raonic, who was competing in his first ATP quarterfinal in three and a half years, had retired due to injury twice this year.
Sinner remarked, “I was up a break in the first set and missed a couple of things,” in reflection on his performance. I felt like I was playing better in the first set today, but also that I was having some trouble finding my game in the latter two rounds.”This is ultimately not how you want to win the game. He has sustained numerous injuries over his career; perhaps, he will recuperate quickly.

The home favorite Tallon Griekspoor, who defeated Emil Ruusuvuori 7-5 7-6(4) in the quarterfinals, will face Sinner next.
Now that he has triumphed in 23 of his previous 24 games, Sinner would rise to a career-high No. 3 in the world rankings should he win in Rotterdam.
The Italian took the early break in the match against Raonic to lead 3-2, but Raonic quickly answered to tie the score.
Sinner, who wasn’t playing at his peak, saved a set point at 5-4 with an incredible forehand winner.

Sinner won the set in a tiebreaker after Raonic failed to forehand on a second set point.
After Raonic made it 1-1, he seemed to grimace and shook hands with Sinner and the umpire before the second set ended in just nine minutes.
In the other semi-final, Grigor Dimitrov will play Alex de Minaur.
After losing to Andrey Rublev at the Australian Open’s fourth round last month, De Minaur defeated the second-seeded player 7-6(5) 4-6 6-3 in two hours and thirty-two minutes.

De Minaur remarked, “I can’t just run around against Andrey in the end, so I kept telling myself to be brave and go after it.”

Jannik Sinner shared what is his team's true strength

“He’s too strong, too numerous weapons, and he just walks me around dictating what to do.”Therefore, I need to support myself, try to be aggressive, and hit the ball flatter and bigger than I usually do if I want to be effective against Andrey. I performed really well in crucial situations, and that helped me win today.
Dimitrov defeated Alexander Shevchenko 7-6(2) 3-6 6-4 to earn his 13th victory of the season, which leads the tour.

On February 17, a significant day for De Minaur, Dimitrov and De Minaur will meet for the second year in a row in Rotterdam.
Regarding their quarterfinal matchup from the previous year, De Minaur remarked, “I played him on my birthday, and he was rude enough to beat me when I was two match points up.”
“I’m hoping he’s a little bit friendlier to me because I’m playing him tomorrow, which is also my birthday. We’ll see.
