BREAKING NEWS: Liverpool players to whom he must award new contracts…

At Liverpool, Michael Edwards is back. It’s wonderful to have him back. He will have a lot of work ahead of him when he finally assumes his new position at FSG, though.

In addition to helping the club choose a new manager, he also needs to choose Liverpool’s sporting director and assign them to work under him. Edwards will contribute and assist FSG in growing its football portfolio, having assumed the position of head of football operations at the company.

Above all, though, there are still more pressing issues that need to be resolved within the Liverpool team. In addition to the club having a busy summer transfer window with objectives to pursue, Edwards also needs to think about which players to sign long-term contracts. Many of them have contracts that are due to expire, so Edwards must now make crucial choices for them.

Speaking on talkSPORT today is Peter Moore, the former CEO of Liverpool who worked with Michael Edwards until he resigned from the role in 2020.

Moore talked on a variety of topics, including who he believes Michael Edwards should now decide on for their futures at the team and who needs to sign new contracts. Moore specifically mentioned three players. Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold were those three players.

Moore remarked, “You want your captain to be tied down.” “You want Trent Alexander-Arnold, the local scouser from West Derby, and your global superstar Mohamed Salah to be restrained.” The three players who are up for bids are those.

It’s difficult to argue with Moore. All three of the aforementioned players are players that Liverpool should absolutely keep. In addition to being key players in the Liverpool dressing room, they also play a major role in the team’s success on the field.
