£3.55 million Gus Hamer makes a point, the Coventry City boss talks about replacing the “incredible” Callum O’Hare.

During his update regarding Callum O’Hare’s future, Mark Robins highlighted an important area that Coventry City hopes to strengthen in the summer transfer window.

The popular offensive midfielder scored ten goals this season—two doubles against Midland rivals Birmingham and Leicester and an FA Cup brace against Sheffield Wednesday—to reach double figures for the first time in his senior career. It was his best output in his five years with the Sky Blues.

But it looks like the 26-year-old’s home match against QPR on Saturday (12.30pm kickoff) may be his final one for the team, where the supporters had taken a deep liking to him since he joined from Aston Villa.New terms have been offered to the unsigned athlete; however, he has declined to sign them thus far and is anticipated to become a free agency.

With one eye on his summer acquisition, Robins acknowledges that, despite focusing on trying to finish the season with a solid performance and result, “We need more goals from midfield, and with Callum seemingly moving on, we are looking at that and what happens next.”

“However, who can say? Even though I doubt it, Callum might decide at the end of this season that he wants to stay. Though as of yet, we’re unsure. In any event, Adi (Viveash) and I have talked about what we can do, what we have in the building, how we’re going to approach things, and changing our focus. That’s one of those instances where all we can do is hope. Wherever possible, we’ll work to get better.

Not to give too much away, but we’re focusing our attention there because we’re working hard on it. We shall work all summer long, barring a holiday that we will take to be fair.

To the question of whether he believed O’Hare would have a hard time finding love and loyalty from Sky Blues fans at any other team, the manager said, “I think the Coventry supporters have been brilliant with every player.” For certain athletes, they form strong bonds and remain loyal.

Callum has developed significantly over the last four or five years, and it’s all because of his distinct personality. When they first meet him, they instantly connect with his vivacious demeanor, and they still see the same guy off the field. He’s a wonderful guy who has made tremendous contributions to the football squad.

Like any athlete who leaves this area, he will miss the supporters, though. Sincerely speaking, I think Gus (Hamer) has watched more matches and other events at this location than he has at Sheffield United. So, yes, Callum will really miss it, and that applies to everyone, or at least to 99.9 percent of them. I was just thinking about Viktor Gyokeres there, and since he will be focused on his mission, I don’t think he will. Still, what really sets this club apart are our special supporters who guide you through.
