A £3.2 million agreement is finalized. Fans of the Rangers will be excited by Jose Cordoba’s latest, even though the Ibrox club now needs to give over “more money.”

The deal between Rangers and Levski Sofia is reportedly the subject of “final negotiations,” according to the Bulgarian newspaper Blitz.

According to the report, Jose Cordoba has a pre-agreement to join Rangers, and the two teams are currently working out the specifics of the transfer. They cite information they obtained from Panama.

It’s interesting to note that the source states Rangers would pay £3.2 million to sign the center back, which is “more money” than Levski Sofia had anticipated receiving in exchange for the player.

As the Rangers attempt to reassemble their team this summer under Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen, this figure is sure to draw attention.

The team seems to think Jose Cordoba matches that description. The Gers are eager to make deals for young players with tremendous potential who may possibly be moved on for lucrative earnings.

The signing of Cordoba to Glasgow would mark Rangers’ first acquisition of what looks to be a busy window in Govan, should a transfer go through.

Rangers-Transfer Links intensify

There is no doubt that the noise level surrounding this deal is rising.

While opinions in Jose Cordoba’s home country of Panama have been divided on his possible Rangers transfer, Levski Sofia has never stood in the way of a move going through.

The president of the Bulgarian team has actually stated in the past that it would be ethically wrong to prevent Jose Cordoba from making a significant move that many believe the center back deserves.

In the forthcoming window, Rangers manager Philippe Clement has made it apparent that the team is attempting to find a balance between young, exciting players and seasoned veterans.

This is due to Rangers’ connections to several talented individuals from across the world.

While South African midfielder Rebohile Mofokeng and Malian winger Adama Traore have been the focus of significant reporting, Brazilian left-back Jefferson is still rumored to be joining the Gers.

Albion Rrahmani, an exciting forward from Kosovo, was recently linked to Rangers, but the rumored asking price of Rrahmani’s current team, Rapid Bucharest, may prove to be a barrier.

Rangers have one more game left in this season before they play Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final, and after that, we have a feeling that the doors at Ibrox will soon open.

Even though it can’t be verified until the scarf is raised high above his head, Jose Cordoba appears to have a good chance of being the first person to pass through it.

Ex-Rangers striker for £250k who made buyers richer than £8 million is expected to leave the team at 3

For Rangers supporters, the name Martyn Waghorn brings back nostalgic memories.

After joining the Gers from Wigan Athletic in 2015 alongside captain James Tavernier, the English striker enjoyed a successful debut season at Ibrox.

After scoring 28 goals in his debut campaign at Rangers, many anticipated that Martyn Waghorn would lead the team to 55 goals in the Scottish Premiership.

These proved to be extremely fleeting.

Following a disappointing first season back in the Scottish Premiership, Waghorn returned south, Warburton was benched and replaced by Pedro Caixinha, with the Portuguese calling the shots.

However, the forward is expected to be without a club as current Derby County announces a number of departures, eight years after that Ibrox leave.

Of the six to depart Derby is Waghorn.

The Rams have revealed that no less than six first-team players would be departing the team this summer following a campaign that saw them secure a promotion.

Specifically, Martyn Waghorn, the striker, will be leaving Pride Park with Dwight Gayle, Conor Hourihane, Scott Loach, Korey Smith, and goalie Joe Wildsmith.

It follows Waghorn’s summertime return to Derby County, when the striker netted seven goals to help Derby finish second in English League One, one goal behind Portsmouth.

According to an official statement on the release:

“Waghorn, 34, departs Derby for the second time in his career after making a one-year comeback last summer. In those two stints, he has played 150 games and scored 37 goals.

“In the early stages of the campaign, he played 27 times and scored seven goals, most notably a first-half hat-trick in the 4-2 victory at fellow promotion contender Peterborough United.”

Rangers wasted an opportunity to sign an £8 million striker.

Surprisingly, Rangers supporters will recall that, under Frank Lampard, Derby County secured an £8 million contract to bring Martyn Waghorn to the team back in 2018.

Even though Waggy may not have actually played for the team, the deal included a number of add-ons, but the money-spinning transfer cost caught people in Glasgow off guard.

Not least since Waghorn only left Rangers for Ipswich Town for a mere £250k the season prior thanks to Caixinha’s axe.

Only a year later, Tractor Boys manager Mick McCarthy famously declared that the team was the “fortunate beneficiaries” of the circumstances after selling the striker for thirty-two times that sum.

Joe Garner, another forward, was also fired by Pedro Caixinha at the same time.

McCarthy said, “I don’t know why Rangers didn’t want to keep them,” according to statements published in the Scottish Sun. “We are quite lucky to have benefited from that one.

“I couldn’t believe Waggy was available when I first heard. However, when we looked into it, he was.

Martyn Waghorn played 78 games for the Rangers in all, tallying 44 goals and dishing out 17 assists.
