It appears that Harry Souttar and his Leicester City teammates are having fun throughout their thrilling Championship run this year.

Enzo Maresca’s team won the English second division and made a quick return to the Premier League. They are eager to take on the major leagues the following season.

Harry Souttar posted a photo of himself on Instagram with King Power teammates Marc Albrighton, Conor Coady, and Harry Winks while the guys were having some downtime.

After the Gers lost out on a reported £8 million fortune, the 34-year-old ex-Ibrox asset is officially without a club.

However, sharp-eyed Rangers supporters will note that the 21-time Australian cap defender is donning a vintage Rangers jersey.

Wearing the iconic Nike jersey from 1997–1998—the photo undoubtedly confirms Souttar’s Ibrox allegiances and won’t do much to quell rumors about the center back being traded before the summer.

Rangers should consider Harry Souttar as a potential option before they embark on “quite a rebuild” at Ibrox.

Eighteen months ago, Leicester City paid Stoke City £15 million for the left-sided defender, but this season, the defender has had few opportunities.

With just four appearances this season—three of which were in the Championship—it is evident that Enzo Maresca does not have high expectations for the center-back at the Foxes.

In the past, Souttar has been candid about his prospects at the team.

The center back would obviously prefer Rangers, but it’s unclear whether or not Rangers would be interested in such a trade.

Rangers reportedly lost out on a bid to sign Harry Souttar last summer because Stoke City was unable to present a compelling enough offer to sign Ibrox center-back Ben Davies to the Britannia.

It seems the Gers’ hopes for a left-sided center back are now placed elsewhere, since the team is now in “advanced talks” with Panamanian defender Jose Cordoba.

Baccus: The transfer to St. Mirren was a “dream”

Keanu Baccus says that he would be leaving St. Mirren this summer in statements that were published by the Herald.

This indicates that Baccus’ two-year stay in Paisley will come to an end after he joined the Premiership team from Western Sydney Wanderers, an A-League team.

After a fruitful 24 months at the team, Baccus has paid homage to the Saints. The news will come as a huge blow to Steve Robinson.

After the Gers lost out on a reported £8 million fortune, the 34-year-old ex-Ibrox asset is officially without a club.

After losing 3-2 to Celtic in the final game of the season, Baccus declared, “It’s probably my last game for the club as I’ll be moving on.”

We’ll see in the next week or so; I’m still holding a few things close to my vest.

However, moving to St. Mirren has been nothing less than a dream realized. My dream has always been to play professional football since I was a small lad. I was able to obtain some sniffs to travel abroad after doing it in my hometown.

“St. Mirren is the best place I could have asked for when I made the decision to come here. The players in the locker room, the staff, and the supporters have all been excellent.

“I qualified for a World Cup after placing twice in the Premiership. And I depart with the group to enter Europe. To be honest, I couldn’t have asked for a better group of guys to collaborate with.

“It was a difficult choice to make. Though it didn’t quite work out, I think everything happens for a purpose. Last year, I gave it a go. I returned to the club to work hard and try to improve on our performance from the previous year.

“I hope all the boys and staff have the finest possible trip to Europe and the upcoming season if I am not around. I will continue to keep an eye on their progress and maintain a small sense of involvement.

“I still keep an eye on and support my home team in Sydney, but now that I was involved in the effort to get St. Mirren back into Europe, I’ll be watching them even more closely.”

“To be honest, I hope the best for them.”

Is Rangers not the midfielder’s likely destination?

Keanu Baccus, whose summer transfer to Bolton Wanderers fell through, has also been talking about what he wants to do next.

While claiming that playing in England has always been the goal, the remarks imply that the midfielder will be moving south of the border rather than over Glasgow’s southside to Ibrox this summer.

The Australian international, who was really born in Durban, South Africa, has high expectations for himself in the game and has praised St Mirren once more for their assistance in his growth over the previous two seasons.

The midfielder has previously mentioned his goal of playing in the Premier League.

“I’ve made it clear over the last 12 months or so that playing in England has always been my dream,” Baccus stated.

“I want to stay in the UK and give it my all wherever I go next. I don’t want to leave. With any luck, I’ll get to watch another World Cup.

“However, playing in the Premier League has always been my dream, and you need good people to push you.” And that’s what everyone at St. Mirren has done.

“The supporters, the backroom crew, the gaffer, and the boys have my sincere gratitude. I sacrificed a lot to travel to Scotland, leaving behind friends and family in my own country. For them, being able to watch from a distance has been fantastic.

This season, Keanu Baccus made 36 appearances for St. Mirren in all competitions, with two assists and two goals.

Todd Cantwell of Rangers celebrates his teams 3rd goal with teammate Ross McCausland during the Cinch Scottish Premiership match between Rangers F...

Speaking prior to the team’s final home league match of the week at Ibrox against Dundee, the manager reaffirmed his squad first philosophy:

“It is about players putting in their best effort for the team and winning three points. It is about pride, honor, quality, and teamwork.”

“That is what I want to see in the next two games, and then we can get ready for the cup final. It is always about wanting to win games and giving everything for that.”

When players try to make it about themselves instead of the team when they aren’t winning, it doesn’t help.

MORE STORIES OF RANGERS

The Rangers players arguably should have done little more than thank the supporters for their support over the season and focused on the Scottish Cup final after blowing out a two-goal lead at Tynecastle.

Rather, Todd Cantwell and Fabio Silva, the usual culprits, were indulging in some self-indulgence on Instagram.

Despite the fact that both players scored brilliantly, it’s perhaps best to save the self-congratulation for another day in a 3-3 tie.

Distractions from social media can be frustrating.

Since Walter Smith took over, modern football has undergone virtually enormous transformation, and players have been at the heart of that change.

They have shared more of their life with followers thanks to social media, but this hasn’t always been positive.

Though nearly every public organization has a social media strategy, Rangers and Philippe Clement don’t have to exercise tyranny over what players can and cannot post.

After unfavorable outcomes, a little tact would not go amiss.

Every player with Rangers eventually comes to the realization that winning is the only thing that matters.

Even though he enjoys the theatrical, Cantwell is a winner, and his post-match interview with Dundee indicates that losing the league affected him.

Despite being in the industry for a short while, Silva is still learning the craft at the age of 21, and considering his recent antics, it looks like he will have to learn the hard way.

Talk on the pitch; everything else is secondary.
