Breaking: Clement considers the Champions League danger as Rangers are reportedly in negotiations to sign a six-million-pound player from the Premier League.

The Brighton loanee, who scored 15 goals before the year began, was one of the few new players in a £21 million summer roster overhaul who had already shown his value at Ibrox.

Abdullah Sima is a fantastic player who, when in form, displays a merciless streak in front of goal. If injuries hadn’t struck this season, he may have led us to even greater success.

However, because of that problematic injury and Sima’s heartbreaking January comeback to the Senegal starting lineup, the second half of the season has raised questions about making a costly summer transfer.

Even while Philippe Clement has acknowledged that talks with parent club Brighton are still underway, he has now placed some doubt on the transaction.

Rangers are assessing the danger because the forward’s transfer fee is still unknown (Sima cost Brighton more than £6 million when he arrived from Slavia Prague in 2021).

The Ibrox manager responded bluntly, saying that while the club was interested in a long-term agreement, Brighton ultimately had the final say.

This comes after Rangers News was informed by sources that the Premier League team based on the south coast is ready to let go of the forward this summer.

It’s also evident that no decision has been made about the player’s future.

Clement remarked, “That is about us, him, and Brighton.” We were rather pleased with what he displayed.

He is content in this facility and has the opportunity to expand, in our opinion.

“You need to come to an arrangement so we can see what will happen there. There is a club that belongs to him.

“You have no idea how that will turn out. Depending on what they want and what we can afford, that is. That is how things are constantly.

Rangers must use their transfer budget carefully.

At the end of the season, when Brighton is expected to reevaluate Abdallah Sima’s status, Rangers may find themselves shorthanded at the beginning of a pivotal window for transfers.

As Rangers manager Philippe Clement works to assemble a team capable of making the Champions League early in the season, there really isn’t much time to waste.

Considering the anticipated player attrition, that will be no easy task.

Rangers may find themselves in a difficult scenario in the coming weeks as Brighton has the upper hand when it comes to Abdallah Sima, and the Premier League team isn’t exactly known for selling players cheap.

The problem is that Rangers may require those millions in Champions League revenue to complete a move for Sima as they want to allocate their budget carefully throughout their team.

On the other hand, it won’t be simple to enter Europe’s restructured elite competition without the quality the forward offers.

When you combine this with the player’s current fitness concerns, a move seems like a huge risk at a critical time for the Rangers organization.

Will the club choose to accept it, though?
