A player leaves Coventry City for a “undisclosed” price, marking the club’s first external transfer at £2.5.

Midfielder Marco Rus has officially moved from Coventry City to Ayr United of the Scottish Championship.

Subject to international clearance, the 21-year-old Sky Blues development player crosses the border for an unknown sum.

Rus moved to City from Southampton in July 2021. He scored in the Under 21 team’s victory over Bristol City in May 2022 to help them win the Professional Development League.

Wearing the captain’s armband on several occasions, Marco was a valuable player of the Sky Blues Under-21 team that advanced to the Birmingham Senior Cup final in 2022–2023.

In addition to sitting on the sidelines for Sky Blues first team games in recent seasons, he has spent time on loan at Chorley FC and his hometown FC Universitatea Cluj in Romania during the latter half of the previous campaign.
