Genesis Employment, which employs more than 350 people weekly from its Hay Lane headquarters, has donated £10,000 to the effort to honor two iconic Sky Blues players.

With just £15,000 needed to reach the goal, local businesses and individuals have already contributed more than £185,000 toward the total.

The agency’s management team has a strong affinity for Coventry City, having sponsored the team’s “back of shirt” during the 2013–14 season and served as a pitch side advertiser since 2005.

In addition, it sponsors corner kicks, GoalCam, team sheets, and frequently hosts events for clients and suppliers in its 12-seater box.

With highly regarded UK sculptor Douglas Jennings already committed to building the statue of the two Sky Blues heroes, they are now eager to take all necessary steps to make sure it becomes a reality. His earlier football-related works have made Jack Charlton, George Cohen, and Johnny Haynes famous.

Gaynor Frost, Managing Director of Genesis Employment, stated, “I’ve been watching Cov since my dad first took me when I was just nine.”

“Even though the club has experienced difficult times, we will always cherish that amazing day at Wembley and our 1987 cup victory.” The sky blue sea, Dave Bennett’s wizardry, and Keith Houchen’s diving header are all things we owe to John Sillett and George Curtis.

“We wanted to extend our relationship with the club and ensure that this fantastic tribute takes its rightful place on Jimmy Hill Way outside the Coventry Building Society Stadium,” she continued, adding that “we pride ourselves on being a Coventry business.”

Gaynor and Richard Frost established Genesis Employment in 2002 with the intention of providing a stand-alone substitute for traditional high-street recruitment firms.

With substantial demand from clients in the automotive, engineering, food, warehousing, and construction industries, the company has experienced rapid expansion over the past 12 months, positioning it for yet another record-breaking year.

By providing a more customized service to candidates and employers alike, expansion has been made possible by matching the demands and skill sets of the two groups.

Richard continued, “We have established some fantastic, long-lasting relationships with local firms and employees, and we conduct the majority of our business in and around Coventry. They share our love and fervor for the city, and we have launched a campaign to encourage additional businesses and people to support the monument request.

The Statue Appeal committee member Joe Elliot MBE lent his support as well, saying, “Genesis Employment’s generous donation has given the campaign a real boost and takes us very close to our target.”

“It is only fitting that we have a permanent memorial to that historic day, and we hope that many employers will take the lead from Gaynor and Richard in doing the same. There are many various packages available, and supporters who are eager to participate can also offer their support, so it doesn’t have to be £10k.

“The name of any individual, family, or company that donates £500 or more will be listed on the pedestal of the statue.”
