Journalist Alan Nixon claims that Sunderland does not seem to be interested in compensating Queens Park Rangers manager Marti Cifuentes.

Since taking over QPR in October, the 41-year-old Spaniard has shown promise, keeping the London team in the Championship the previous campaign.

This summer, a number of managers have been connected to the Sunderland position, including him.

Cifuentes has drawn real interest from the Black Cats, although moving for him would require paying QPR a large transfer fee.

Furthermore, it seems that Sunderland is unwilling to reimburse QPR for Cifuentes.

Even though they are interested in him, the club is not in the position to demand a sizable payment in exchange.

Given that the Spaniard is under contract with QPR, their chances of acquiring him are virtually nil if that is their position.

The London club would only assist a Championship competitor if there was a financial benefit involved.
