‘Showing interest’ is Tottenham, according to trade expert Fabrizio Romano, in Monaco defender Vanderson.

The 22-year-old’s future has been the focus of a lot of conjecture in recent weeks, with some reports from Brazilian publication RTI Esporte that Nottingham Forest is also interested in a player with two caps for his country.

The connection initially became apparent last week when reports from his home country’s media said that his team was ready for an inquiry from Napoli, which suggested the Serie A team would offer €9 million but that Monaco wanted €15 million.

It was also reported that Giuliano Bertolucci, his representative, ‘will listen’ to proposals from both Forest and Sevilla, and that both teams are interested.

Romano, though, asserts that the Ligue 1 team is seeking an incredible €40 million, which would undoubtedly surpass Forest’s budget, which takes into account their Profitability & Sustainability Rules calculations.According to Romano, Tottenham is interested in Vanderson, the right back for AS Monaco; this is only a possibility if Emerson Royal decides to leave the team. Not an easy one, as Spurs value him and Monaco wants to pay more than €40 million. Emerson, who prioritizes AC Milan, is anticipated to go from #THFC.

Vanderson started 20 Ligue 1 games last season, splitting his time between right back and right midfield, despite missing a few stretches due to injury. He has played 84 times overall for the Principality club. After making the breakthrough at Gremio, Vanderson transferred to France in January 2022 for an alleged sum of €11 million. Last summer, he made his debut in Brazil.

Right back alternatives for the Reds currently include Neco Williams and Ola Aina, albeit the latter played primarily on the left side of the field during the previous campaign. Last season, Gonzalo Montiel was also on loan.
