DEAL Nottingham Forest player who scored a historic goal is expected to sign with Derby County

Over the years, a good number of players have represented both Derby County and Nottingham Forest.

Even though it hasn’t felt like it in recent years, the two clubs share a long-standing and intense rivalry.

These days, teams fight for the Brian Clough Trophy, which Derby hasn’t owned since Forest stole it from them in 2019.

Since their 2-0 victory at Pride Park in October 2017, the Rams have not truly defeated Forest.

Since the clubs haven’t even played one another in the past two and a half years, the rivalry is waning.

In light of this, it’s rather curious that a player from Forest is really expected to sign with the team across the A52.

Ben Osborn, a former player for Nottingham Forest, is expected to join Derby County.

To be fair, we’re shocked that Osborn hasn’t visited Derby sooner—the team where he and his father used to have season tickets—for so long.

Osborn played for the Blades for five years before making 24 appearances for the South Yorkshiremen in the Premier League last year.

Given how awful Derby truly was, it’s amazing that United exceeded their lowest point total in 2023–2024.

They have returned to the Championship, and it looks as though Osborn will be joining a team that will compete against them in the upcoming campaign.

The 29-year-old played 230 games for the Reds after going through Forest’s development.

After the Blades were promoted to the Premier League, he left to sign with them and experienced two relegations while playing for them.

Osborn and Derby appear to be a nice combination.

Osborn may have dreamed of being a well-known player in the Premier League when he left Forest, but he struggled just as much with the Blades as he did the Reds.

Osborn shown he was a jack of all trades and a master of none, which frequently led to him filling a hole on the team rather than taking up a role.

Still, Osborn seems like a really important addition for Derby, a squad that just gained promotion from League One.

This acquisition may serve as a reminder of how different the two clubs are now.

Derby is excited to acquire a flexible player at no cost, while Forest is now attempting to raise approximately £60 million for a potential Brazil international.

Nevertheless, Osborn will always live on in Forest legend as an academy graduate and because of his thrilling goal against Derby in the last seconds in 2015.

Something tells us that when the signing is revealed, that goal won’t be included in the unveiling video.

In their pursuit of acquiring a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window, Nottingham Forest has made progress.

The prospect of Forest bringing Carlos Miguel, a stopper for Corinthians, to the City Ground currently seems quite likely.

When he eventually checks in, the 6′ 7″ athlete will become the tallest player in the Premier League because he appears to be very uncompromising.

Miguel reportedly underwent a medical examination with the Reds earlier this week, and it is now reported that he will be joining Forest.

Miguel looks to provide some competition for Forest, who also have Matt Sels as a goalkeeping option.

There seems to be a new development regarding Miguel and Forest’s agreement.
