Kevin Durant responded to Anthony Edwards’ posterizing him in three words

Anthony Edwards, the guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has now tormented Kevin Durant. The forward for the Phoenix Suns responded to a picture of himself being dunked on by Edwards in the best way possible.

Ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Edwards recently had Durant featured on a billboard at a Team USA scrimmage. Since then, the highlight photo has been incredibly popular on social media.

Durant re-posted the image with a brief caption consisting of just three words.

Durant wrote, “Jennifer, I tried.”

Durant’s statement alluded to the widely shared remark from 2018 by New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum. When a fan called Jennifer made fun of the former Portland Trail Blazers star for not having enough postseason victories, McCollum responded on social media.

It is difficult to hold Durant accountable for not at least attempting to keep Edwards out of the play. However, considering Edwards’ explosiveness on the court, any defender in the game may be posterized at any time. Even though Durant is essentially 7 feet tall, he does not seem to be an anomaly.

Edwards had a breakout 2023–24 season, recording some of the dunks of the decade. When the Timberwolves defeated the Suns in the NBA playoffs’ opening round, one of them was even against Durant (see the video here).

It is impressive that Durant made an attempt to challenge Edwards at all, given that he is allegedly recovering from a calf ailment.
