Things to know about NFL training camps in 2024
With all 32 teams taking the field this week, NFL training camps are well underway. Not too far off comes a real football match; on Thursday, the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans will play in the Hall of Fame game.
Training camp headlines last week were dominated by injuries, holdouts, and contract extensions. A few salient points: The quarterback market changed once again when the Miami Dolphins paid Tua Tagovailoa and the Green Bay Packers made Jordan Love the highest-paid quarterback in the league; Minnesota Vikings cornerback Mekhi Blackmon tore his ACL, and New England Patriots star DT Christian Barmore was diagnosed with blood clots. Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is holding out from camp while San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk holds out.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders even engaged in some lighthearted banter during training camp.
