Fast bowler Mark Wood has been selected to replace James Anderson in an otherwise unchanged England team for the second Test against the West Indies at Trent Bridge, according to an announcement by the country’s cricket board (ECB) on Tuesday.
Wood rejoined the squad after Anderson retired from Test cricket following the first match at Lord’s, where England secured a victory by an innings and 114 runs within three days.
With 108 wickets in 34 Tests, Wood last represented England during their tour of India earlier this year.
The 34-year-old will join fast bowlers Chris Woakes and Gus Atkinson, who took 12 wickets on his debut.
The third Test of the three-match series is set to begin on Thursday.
